Richard Clarence Gindt, AKA, “Sacktime” 85, resident of Columbia, Tennessee, died Monday November 25, 2019 at Magnolia Healthcare Center in Columbia. A Graveside Service will be held in Collinsville, Oklahoma on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the West Ridgelawn Cemetery located at 14476 North 104th East Avenue, Collinsville, Oklahoma in care of the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home. Born October 11, 1934 in Collinsville, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Raymond Gindt and the late Virgie Timmerman. He graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1952 where he earned a “Golden Glove Championship” trophy and was an Oklahoma State Boxing Champion. He joined the Navy and served his country while being a member of the boxing team through 1958. He received an Honorable Discharge. He returned to Tulsa and worked in the oil fields and spent the majority of his career as a residential and commercial painter. His hobbies included artistry, fishing, all sports including being one of the most loyal and dedicated Oklahoma Sooner fans in the country. However, he would tell you his favorite was spending time with his family. His attitude toward life was the true definition of the word “unselfish”. He never met a stranger anywhere he went and always offered whatever he had that would be helpful to all kinds of people. He laughed, he loved, he gave, he prayed and lived with happiness. He was a member of the First Family Baptist Church in Columbia, Tennessee. He is survived by his sisters Delores Grubbs of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Dixie Huston of San Diego, California, Nephews, Larry Gindt of Tacoma, Washington, Charlie Rial of Columbia, Tennessee, Rick Gindt of Tacoma, Washington and Ronnie Gindt of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Nieces, Kathy Gindt of Tacoma, Washington, Rhonda Kincade of Huntsville, Alabama and Theresa Thompson of Mobile, Alabama including a plethora of great and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Brother, Willis Gindt of Tacoma, Washington, Sister-in Law, Colleen Gindt of Tacoma, Washington, Brother-in-Laws, Ronnie Grubbs of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Ronnie Rial of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Nephews, Robbie Gindt of Tacoma Washington, Doug Rial of Pryor, Oklahoma and Mike Rial of Pryor, Oklahoma.
