Richard Ford Mr. Richard Conner "Dickey" Ford, 70, part owner of W.M. White, Inc., died Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at his residence on Cowan St. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Jim Deason and Jacky Jones officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4- 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Harriman native was the son of the late Earl Estes Ford and Pearl Edna Stokes Ford. He was a graduate of Harriman High School and attended the Baptist Church. Mr. Ford served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife Betty Rodgers Ford of Columbia; two daughters, Linda Kay (Andre) Gravel and Cynthia Ann Moore both of Columbia; one son, Danny Lee (Ann) Ford of Columbia; one brother, Carl Ford of Harriman; one sister, Ann Brown of Kingston; eight grandchildren, Jacky Jones, Lara Jones, Hillary Jones, James Christopher Rummage, Stanley Allan Berry, Dawn Michelle Berry, Emily Ann Ford, Della Grace Ford; and three great-grandchildren, Jackson Jones, Kurtis Stechyn, and Karleigh Stechyn. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Pallbearers will be Doug Burns, Steve Harlan, Rick McDonald, Jay Coston, Larry Lockridge, Mike Penrod, Mike Pfeiffer and Augustin Fernandez. Honorary pallbearers will be James Caldwell, Dwight Jacobs, Jeff Meade, Donald Wright, Willie Littleton, and friends and employees of W.M. White, Inc.
