Richard Larry Love, 72, long-time resident of Les Chappell Road in Spring Hill, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Life Care Center of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral with Doug Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Love Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born November 6, 1946 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Theopolis “Toppy” Love and the late Katherine Taylor Love both of Spring Hill, and educated in the public school system. Mr. Love graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1964. He enjoyed farming and being outdoors. He participated in 4-H and FFA throughout his time elementary and high school, he especially enjoyed showing beef and dairy cattle. He went on to graduate from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1972. After college, he went to work for the Co-op and First Farmers and Merchants Bank after obtaining his appraisers license in 1980. He assisted the bank in real estate from 1980-2010. Mr. Love was very passionate about anything he set out to do, whether at home or at work. Mr. Love is survived by his wife, Frances Davis Love of Spring Hill; sons, Richard Love and Brian (Heather) Love both of Spring Hill; grandson, Landon Love; sister, Juanita Westmoreland of Columbia; nephew, Joe (Dee) Westmoreland of Lewisburg; cousin, Carolyn Autry of Bedford, Texas; and several other cousins. Active pallbearers will be Joe Westmoreland, Hal Holcomb, Tony Beyer, and T.C. Norman.
