MR. RICHARD MABRY Mr. Richard Lewis Mabry, 80, retired employee of Occidental Chemical Company, died Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at his residence on Wheeler Drive. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Wednesday after 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Marshall County native was the son of the late Rev. J.J. Mabry and Cora Coulter Mabry. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. He was a member of Craft Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of over fifty years, Elizabeth White Mabry of Columbia; one daughter, Stephanie Elizabeth Mabry of Columbia; one son, Michael (Linda) Mabry of Columbia; four step-grandsons, Jeffrey (Eileen) Boles of Duck River, Rodney Boles of Lewisburg, Connie (Rex) Clark and Shannon Dooley both of Columbia; and five step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Jones and two brothers, Rev. Jack Mabry and Coulter Mabry. Pallbearers will be members of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19.Honorary pallbearers will be retired employees of Occidental Chemical Co.
