Richard C Shear

Mr. Richard Clayton Shear, 66, sales representative with Shear Sales, Inc., died Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at his residence on Highway 431 in Columbia. A memorial service will be conducted at 6p.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Ward Jones officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 5-6p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Christ Church Building Fund, 809 S. Garden St., Columbia, TN 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Muncie, Indiana native was the son of the late Harold Shear and Gladys Robbins Shear Nichols. He served in the United States Air Force from 1961-65 and was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Shear was a member of the Elks Lodge and a member of Christ Church. Survivors include his wife of twenty years, Chloe Vaughan Shear of Columbia; a daughter, Chloe Shear of Columbia; two sons, Steven Shear and Clayton Shear both of Columbia; and three sisters, Susan Abel of Hillsdale, IN, Patricia Shepherd of Hannover, PA, and Caroll Vincent of Owosso, MI.
