Ricky Ervin Gibson, 54, resident of Columbia Care & Rehabilitation Center and former resident of Overton Drive, died Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Centennial Medical Center.Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Gene Shelton and Rev. Brian Weisinger officiating.é Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens.é The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.é Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com.The Maury County native was the son of Joe E. Gibson and Era Currie Gibson and a 1972 graduate of Columbia Central High School.é He worked in the Communications Department of Pan American Electrical Company for several years prior to his illness, and was a former employee of Conalco and a firefighter with the Columbia Fire Department.é He was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene.Survivors include two sons, Dustin Gibson of Nashville, Derrick Gibson and wife Tia of Columbia; brother, Bobby Joe Gibson and wife Renee of Simpsonville, South Carolina; sister, June Beard and husband David of Columbia; grandson, Ian Brodrick Gibson; mother of his children, Donna Cothran White of Columbia.Pallbearers are Jeremiah Ferrell, Matthew King, Isaac Lane, Jeffery Willoughby, Colby Cothron, Cameron Cothron, and Wesley Powell.
