Mrs. Robbie Sue Cummins Bratton, 84, teacher in the Maury County School System for 40 years and a resident of Galloway Street, died Friday, September 16, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Jeremy Butt officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. She was a long-time member of the West Seventh Street Church of Christ and the Tuesday Ladies Bible Class. Mrs. Bratton attended David Lipscomb University and earned a B.S. Degree from Middle Tennessee State University. Most of her 40 -year teaching career was as a member of the faculty of Highland Park Elementary School. She was a member of the Maury County Retired Teachers' Association. She loved crafts and quilting and was a member of the Home Demonstration Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Bratton, March 26, 1986. Survivors include a sister, Julia C. Holt of Columbia; a niece, Sue Ann (John) Hart of Charlotte, North Carolina and two great-nephews, Keith Hart and Philip Hart, both of Charlotte, North Carolina. Active pallbearers are Tim Bratton, Don Bratton, Johnny Bratton, Ronny Bratton, Kyle Bratton, Billy Dan Morrow, Wayne Morrow and Greg Hayes. Honorary pallbearers include Elders of West Seventh Street Church of Christ, Billy Church, Doug Church, Frank McBride, Jimmy Morrow and W. L. Whitlatch.
