Mr. Robert Harold Bunting, 78, retired Church of Christ minister and resident of the Beech Grove Community in Coffee County, died Saturday, March 18, 2006 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro with Joel Plunkett officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Columbia with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. Bunting and Madeline Grace Jamieson Bunting. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from David Lipscomb University in 1950 and served in the U. S. Coast Guard during World War II. Mr. Bunting served as preacher for congregations of the Church of Christ in South Carolina, Alabama, New Jersey and immediately prior to retirement in Bartlett, Tennessee. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sarabain Perry Bunting of Beech Grove; a daughter, Laura Anne Bunting of Derby, Kansas; sons, Lawrence Carl Bunting of Springfield, Joe Emerson (Peggy) Bunting of Charleston, South Carolina, Benjamin Bain (Lisa) Bunting of Beech Grove; brothers, Thomas O. (Shirley) Bunting of Lake City, Florida, William Harley (Alma) Bunting of Belton, Texas; seven grandchildren.
