Robert Baker Church Robert Baker Church, 83, farmer and resident of Rippey Lake Road in Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, September 8, 2004, at Alterra Sterling House of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Jack White officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Hickman County native was the son of the late Robert Hayden Church and Iola Brown Church. He was married to Sophia Mae Hinson Church who preceded him in death on May 12, 1996. Mr. Church was a graduate of Hickman County High School and served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Cedar Hill Church of Christ. Survivors include one daughter, Gail (David) Kincade of Hampshire; one son, Robert Larry (Sandra) Church of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers, Douglas (Ruby) Church and Billy (Alma) Church, both of Duck River; four grandchildren, Bonnie (Preston) Davis, Rebecca Kincade, and Matthew Kincade, all of Hampshire; April (Scott) Davis of Lynnville; and two great grandchildren, Cole Davis and Abby Davis. He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Tucker; and one brother, Fred Church. Pallbearers will be Matthew Kincade, Preston Davis, Scott Davis, Jeff Church, James Robert Tucker, Wayne Kimbel, and Jeff Hutson. Honorary pallbearers will be men of Cedar Hill Church of Christ, employees of Alterra Sterling House, Hospice of Highland Rim, Al Smith, Joe Gilliam, and Frankie Locklar.
