Robert Dennis “Rob” Amorello, 66, employee of Ryder Logistics and retired employee of Porter Walker, went to be with his Lord Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Maury Regional Medical Center. A funeral mass will be held Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Catherine Catholic Church with Father Davis Chackaleckel officiating. Military honors will be provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. and following the service at the church. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Born September 5, 1952 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he was the son of the late Philip Amorello, Sr. and the late Hila Ballard Amorello. Mr. Amorello served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #7447. Survivors include his daughters, Jennifer (Gael) Carlson of Lafayette, LA and Jessica (Andrew) Roden of Chattanooga; sister, Melinda Wilson of Hulett, WY; brother, Ronnie Amorello of Ponchatoula, LA; grandchild, Scarlett Carlson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Philip Amorello, Jr. in 2001 and Joseph Wayne Amorello. Pallbearers will be Price Keller, Robbie Johnson, Robert Johnson, Willie Jones, Larry Manchester, and Andrew Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will include members of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19 and Knights of Columbus Council #7447.
