Robert Edward “Tater” Cochran, 90, retired welder for Monsanto Chemical Company and resident of Williamsport Pike, died Sunday, August 5, 2018 at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Anderson, Stephenson, Hunt Cemetery in Hickman County. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 P.M.– 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born March 28, 1928 in Hickman County, he was the son of the late Robert Clarence Cochran and the late Delia George Cochran. For 67 years, he was married to Mary Ruth Roberts Cochran until her death May 3, 2015. Mr. Cochran was an avid fox hunter and a member of the Fox Hunter Club in Santa Fe. He attended Arkland Church of Christ. Survivors include his son, Robert Dennis “Stormy” Cochran of Sawdust; grandchildren, Jeannie Randolph Turner; Chris Randolph; Eddie (Faye) Randolph all of Columbia; Bobbie Greenup of Clarksville; great grandchildren, Kendall Wayne Turner; Marylelia Goodrum; Elijah Eastep; Edleina Randolph; Kimberly Randolph; E.J. Randolph; Wyatt Lewis all of Columbia; Lexi Sullivan of Clarksville; great great grandchild, Leslie Tuner of Columbia; sisters, Sarah Hill of Culleoka; Bobbie (Jack) Lowrey of Centerville; and brothers, Otis (Mary) Cochran of Michigan; and Roy (Joyce) Cochran of Duck River; and special friends, Shoney Ackley; Monte Ackley; Roman Ackley; April Ackley; and Jake Ackley. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Donna Carol Cochran Randolph and JB Randolph. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will Monsanto Chemical Company retirees.
