Robert G Fisher

Mr. Robert Gramm Fisher, 84, former co-owner of Columbia Concrete and resident of Old Zion Road, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Phillip Wright officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 - 8p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and Friday from 10 -11 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association of Middle Tennessee, Mid South Chapter, 4205 Hillsboro Pike, Suite 216, Nashville, TN 37215. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Harrisburg, Pennsylvania native was the son of the late Charles S. Fisher and Mary Elizabeth Feltenberger Fisher. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a radio operator stationed in the Pacific Theatre. Mr. Fisher was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant. Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years, Mary Sue Paul Fisher of Columbia; a son, Robert Paul Fisher of Amelia Island, FL; two daughters, Elizabeth Claire (Garry) Love, Sally Gramm (Jose) Castro both of Columbia; a sister, Joan Fisher Gottshall of Harrisburg, PA; special friend, Brett Carter of Amelia Island, FL; seven grandchildren, Garry (Courtney) Love, II, Sara Elizabeth Stockard Love, William Robert Love, Nicole Castro, Stefanie Gramm Castro, Gabriela Castro and Arnoldo Castro; one great-grandchild, Abby Love; one niece, Debbie Nichols; and one nephew, Jeff (Pam) Gottshall. Honorary pallbearers will be Jere Warner, Bobby Medaugh, Walter Parker, Lee Dugger, Tommy Nicholson, Walter Locke, Jimmy Rowe, Joe Taylor, Glenn Barnett, Steve Vaughn and Elliot Hampton.
