View Video Tribute Robert Wesley Fox, 76, retired employee of Union Carbide and resident of Bear Creek Pike, died Thursday, May 24, 2018 at NHC Maury Regional. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Randy Fox and John Waldrum officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Born August 6, 1941 in Maury County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Roy Hurchel Fox and the late Mary Pearl Slaughter Fox. He was a 1960 graduate of Columbia Central High School. On August 27, 1960, he married the love of his life, Betty L. Brown Fox who survives. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he loved spending time with his family. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Fox enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He was a devout Christian and elder of Sharp's Corner Church of Christ for several years. In addition to his wife, Betty Brown Fox of Columbia; survivors include his daughters, Sandy Kay (Mike) Lara of Columbia; Vicki Denise (Tim) Lee of Nolensville; grandchildren, Robyn Victoria (Cedric) McClenney; Savannah Faith Hill; Kelce Miranda Lee; Robert Hayden Lee; Brennan Wesley Michael Lara; and Josefina Antonia Medina; great grandchildren, Malaki McClenney; Amari Hardison; brother, Larry Thomas (Myra) Fox of Spring Hill; sister-in-law, Jenny Lee Fox; brother-in-law, Eugene Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Fox; and sisters, Lucille Johnson; Maybelle Johnson; and Velma McNeeley. Active pallbearers will be Tim Lee, Mike Lara, Ricky Howell, Edward Gregg, Jimmy Culberson, Van Brown, Billy Joe Hendricks, and Lee Roy Fox. Honorary pallbearers include Gerald Knight, Deon Hardison, Cedric McClenney, members of Sharp's Corner Church of Christ, and retired employees of Union Carbide. The family would like to express a special thanks to Hospice Compassus, Isabella Bridges, and especially Bobbie Lovett for all her care and support during Mr. Fox's illness.
