Robert Steve Hardison

Robert Steve Hardison, 54, died Friday, December 16, 2005, at his residence on Hickory Drive. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Joe Sterling officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 1:00 - 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1212, Columbia, TN 38402. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Montgomery, Alabama native was the son of Robert D. Hardison of Columbia and the late Betty J. Hardin Hardison. He was first married to Dora L. White Hardison and on September 3, 1995 married Mary C. Evans Hardison of Columbia. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and son. He loved playing bass guitar, Abbott & Costello movies and collecting old toys. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by one daughter, Lee Ann Gothard of Bryant, Alabama; one son, Jimmy (Valerie) Hardison of Columbia; one sister, Brenda G. Burrows of Columbia; one brother, Robin D. (Kim) Hardison of Jasper; three grandchildren, Ayden Hardison of Columbia; Madison Gothard and Bailey Gothard, both of Bryant, Alabama; four stepdaughters, Cara Witt, Mary Ann Marinez, Bessie Eller, and Eileen McKissack; one stepson, Byron Worden; nieces and nephews, Aimeé Deane, April Olivieri, Katherine Hardison, Kristina Hardison, Adrian M. Burrows, and Ryan Hardison. He was preceded in death by one sister, Cynthia A. Hardison; paternal grandparents, Robert A. & Willie Mae Hardison; and maternal grandmother, Lola Mae Hardin. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Worden, Adrian Burrows IV, Byron Worden, Corey Deane, Johnny Butler, and Thurman Hardin.
