ROBERT M. HUBBARD Robert Meredith Hubbard, 51, resident of Katie Lane, died Saturday, January 3, 2004 while on duty at King's Daughters' School. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Parkway Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols and after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Parkway Baptist Church. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was a 1971 graduate of Columbia Central High School and served a tour of duty in Vietnam in the U. S. Army 75th Ranger Battalion.. He earned a master's degree in Science from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and was a graduate of Columbia State Community College's paramedic program and a State of Tennessee licensed paramedic. He was currently serving as a counselor at King's Daughters' School, a paramedic with Vanderbilt University Hospital and was previously an instructor and coordinator at Columbia State Community College.He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church, Maury County Reserve Deputies, National Association of EMTS and a former member of Columbia Masonic Lodge and Maury County Shrine Club. Survivors include his wife, Sara A. Dodson Hubbard of Columbia; a son, Kevin Robert (Fawn Carper) Hubbard of Ft. Hood, Texas; his mother, Rose Hubbard of Columbia; step-children, Derek Anthony Pugh and Levi Ladele Pugh; step-grand children, Carley Pugh, Hayden Pugh, Grace Davis, Hannah Pugh, Hope Pugh; his step-mother, Bennie Williams Hubbard of Columbia. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Meredith J. Hubbard and his father, E. Wade Hubbard. Active pallbearers are Duane York, J. W. Birkel, Billy Carter, David Wray, Tony Greene, Jack Moore. Deacons and Trustees of Parkway Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
