Robert R. McKee, 78, retired mechanic for Union Carbide Corporation and resident of Sulphur Springs Branch Road in the Theta Community, died Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Donald Dark officiating. Burial will be in Attkisson Cemetery in the Santa Fe Community with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Elmer McKee and Ruby Fain McKee. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include a dear long-time friend, Helen Dark of Spring Hill and several cousins. Active pallbearers are Lloyd Shouse, Wayne Harris, Morris Matthews, Ed Smith, Roy Shouse, Ronnie Dark, Art Fitagerald, Mark Fitzgerald, and Shannon Poynor. Honorary pallbearers are Union Carbide Corporation retirees, and Theta Community friends and neighbors.
