MR. ROBERT MOORE Mr. Robert Luverne Moore, 78, resident of Caldwell Drive, died Monday, August 18, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Thursday at Polk Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jim Gardner and Andy Roberts officiating. Military honors will be provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Des Moines, Iowa native was a retired employee of the Veterans Administration Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Virginia Ann Hickman Moore of Columbia; a daughter, Laura Ann Kiser of Nashville; a son, Robert L. Moore, II, of Columbia; six grandchildren, Ernie Wilson, Toni Hood, Jason Kiser, Crystal Moore, Joseph Moore, Jacob Moore; and five great-grandchildren. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
