Mr. Robert Smith Vick, Jr., 71, retired employee of Union Carbide, retired owner of Vick Furniture & Upholstery and resident of Brookside Drive, died Monday, August 12, 2002, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with David Andrews and Greg Gwin officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 1 Vantage Way, Suite D200, Nashville, Tennessee 37228. The Maury County native was the son of the late Robert Smith Vick, Sr. and Mary Helen Henson Vick. He was a member of Collegevue Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of over fifty years, Lucille Owens Vick of Columbia; one daughter Elaine (Mike) McWilliams of Columbia; two sons Larry (Deborah) Vick of Spring Hill, Ronnie Vick of Columbia; three sisters Alta Dawson of Carrolton, Georgia, Virginia Ashley of Columbia, Imogene Tatum of Pulaski; one brother George (Elizabeth) Vick of Mayfield, Kentucky; four grandchildren Tommy (Sara) Vick of Hilltown Community, Jennifer (Chris) Beard of the Fly Community, Courtney McWilliams and Blake McWilliams both of Columbia.He was preceded in death by four brothers Roy Vick, Ernest Vick, Joe Vick, James Vick and two sisters, Ava Carroll and Mildred Cooper. Pallbearers will be Doug Vick, Dennis Owens, Chuck Rodgers, Paul Tomlinson, Jerry Vick, Bobby Fox, Randy Dawson, and Wayne Malugin. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Collegevue Church of Christ, Dr. Cummins Couch and Dr. Tim Gordon.
