Mr. Robert Eugene "Booty" Westmoreland Mr. Robert Eugene "Booty" Westmoreland, 76, loving father and devoted brother and friend, died Saturday, October 5, 2002, at his residence on Caldwell Drive in Columbia following and extended illness. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 7, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Howard Alexander, Charles Hunt, Ricky Clay, and Judge Jimmy Matthews officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Hospice of the Highland Rim or Columbia Academy. A native of Obion County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Terry Emily Byrd Westmoreland of Primm Springs. He was retired from Union Carbide Corporation and attended Faith Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceeded in death by his loving wife, Jeline Westmoreland on October 18, 2000. They would have celebrated their 57th Wedding anniversary on October 6, 2002. He was also preceeded in death by a daughter, Shirley J. King on August 1, 1993 and three brothers, T.C. Westmoreland, William "Dibble" Westmoreland, and George Tommy Westmoreland. Survivors include a son, Max (Linda) Westmoreland; a daughter, Debbie (Jimmy) Turner; two brothers, Edward Westmoreland of Columbia and James Westmoreland of Nashville; four sisters, Berthie Morton, Valera Burns, Eunice Steward, all of Primm Springs, and Lucille Morton of Nashville; son in law Gary L. King; life long close family friend, David Wiley; five grandchildren, Tracy (Jeff) Bolton, Christi (John) Beck, Brittany King, Ben Turner, all of Columbia, and Mary Beth Westmoreland of Chattanooga; three great-grandchildren, Blake Bolton, Lauren and Maxwell Beck. Active pallbearers will be Joe Hutcherson, Carl Hutcherson, Larry Warren, Jim Dodson, John L. Morton, Tommy Westmoreland, Leroy Hill, and Dwayne Waire. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Westmoreland, Ted Prince, J.L. Smith, Tim Smith, Ric Shelby, Don Sisk, Don and Tina Derryberry, Dr. Worthman and staff, Dr. Jameson and staff, Maury Regional Hospital 1 West nurses and technicians, Dr. Thomas Quinn, Dr. Martin Chaney, Dr. Mark Seigo, and all other nephews and close friends whom he cared about very much.
