Roland Roy Rooker

Mr. Roland Roy Rooker, 72, retired baker for Happy's Doughnuts and resident of West 11th Street, died Saturday, Feburary 9, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital. Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Coleman Cemetery in Murfreesboro with Pastor Russell Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville 37203-2003. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Shelby County native was the son of the late Jefferson Davis Rooker and Evelyn Elizabeth Hefley Rooker. He was a graduate of Kittrell High School in Readyville and attended Columbia Business College. Mr. Rooker was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include a sister, Barbara Rooker Hall of Jasper; a brother, Jerry Wayne (Jan) Rooker of Lynnville; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers.
