View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Ronnie Lee McNeely, 51, boiler technician for Baptist Hospital in Nashville and resident of Mahon Road, died Friday, June 1, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Kenny McFarlen officiating. Burial will follow in Harvey Cemetery with military honors provided by the U. S. Navy Funeral Honors Unit. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 12:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. Born in Maury County, he was the son of the late William Spivey "Bill" McNeely and Maggie Ellen Tomlin McNeely. He was a graduate of Spring Hill High School and was retired from the U. S. Navy with eighteen years active service, including duty during Desert Storm. He had U. S. Naval law enforcement training and served as a security guard and had nine years of sea duty as a boiler tech specialist, first class. He was awarded two Battle E Awards; two letters of commendation; three sea service deployment ribbons; the humanitarian service medal; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; and Navy Expeditionary Medal. Survivors include his son, Joseph Spivey McNeely of Hartselle, Alabama; fiancé and loving companion, Susan Roland and her daughters, Tiffany Ervin and Kimberly Ervin of Columbia; step-daughter, Lesley Corrine Moore of Huntsville, Alabama; sisters, Joyce (George) Wishart of Franklin, Mary Ruth (Larry) Schwartz of Spring Hill, Connie (Royce) Richardson of Columbia, and Betty Jo (Mike) Stinnett-Blackburn of Culleoka; brothers, Leonard "Sonny" McNeely of Columbia and Billy (Pam) McNeely of Lynnville; mother of his son, Christine Moore McNeely of Hartselle, Alabama; brother-in-law, Pete Witherspoon of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Bernice Witherspoon and Wanda Faye Kicklighter. Pallbearers are Russell "Rip" Tuck, J. R. Reed, Bill Ingram, Bill Haywood, Randy Green, Robert Simchack, Burton "B. L." Griggs, Thomas White, Roger White, James White, and Greg Conner.
