Roy Albert Osborne, Jr., 70, truck driver, died Saturday, December 4, 2021 at his residence in Culleoka. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born February 9, 1951 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Roy Albert Osborne, Sr. and the late Johnnie Emaline Cannady Osborne. Mr. Osborne served in the United States Army during and after The Vietnam War. He earned numerous combat awards including, The Purple Heart Medal for wounds received in action. He served in the III Corps Area (War Zone C), in the Former Republic of South Vietnam, Company B 2nd Battalion 27th Infantry Regiment (Wolfhounds), 25th Infantry Division and later with Service Battery 2nd Battalion 32nd Field Artillery, (Proud Americans), II Field Forces Vietnam. Mr. Osborne’s last assignment was as a Drill Sergeant with the United States Army Armor School at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Mr. Osborne and his wife, became members of The Patriot Guard Riders in 2011 and have attended as many missions as possible. Survivors include his wife, Amanda June Frost Osborne of Culleoka; step-children, Kenny (Gerie) Biffle of Trinity, Alabama; Jonathan (Rochelle) Biffle of Rogersville, Alabama; Jeff (Laura) Biffle of Killen, Alabama; six step-grandchildren; one step-great grandchild; and brothers, Carl Osborne; and Wayne Osborne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Don Osborne, Joe Osborne; and sister, Teresa Taylor. Active pallbearers will be friends and family.
