Roy Ballard

Mr. Roy Paul Ballard, 70, former employee of Monsanto Company, General Electric and Columbia Power & Water System, died Saturday, August 4, 2007 at Maury Regional Hospital.Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Concord Cemetery with Andrew Roberts officiating.. The family will visit with friends 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Covington, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Henry Ballard and Sadie May DeLancy Ballard and a graduate of Columbia Central High School.He served in the U. S. Air Force and was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Ann Demastus Ballard of Columbia; a daughter, Stacey Rene Baer of Columbia; a son, Michael Roy (Susan) Ballard of Columbia; three grandchildren, Laura Michelle Ballard, Nathan Cord Vance, and Heather Rene Young; a sister, Geraldine Andrews of Old Hickory; a brother, Owen Ballard of California; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Nick Green, Wendall Davis, Randy Davis, John Scales, Gerald Andrews, Ricky Andrews, Danny Andrews, and Eric Kidder.
