Roy Lee Cochran, 81, resident of Duck River, TN, died Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Highland church of Christ with David Morris, Brian Gregory and Bill McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in Stand Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Highland church of Christ. Roy was born on December 7, 1942 in Hickman County to the late Robert Clarence Cochran and the late Janie Irene Edwards Cochran. He graduated from Hickman County High School in 1960. Roy worked for Monsanto Chemical Company for 25 years and Union Carbide for 3 years before retiring. He enjoyed car shows and entering his and Joyce’s 1965 Ford Falcon. He was on the Election Commission in Centerville for many years and was a former member and song leader for Anderson Bend church of Christ. He was a devoted member of Highland church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Cochran of Duck River; daughter and son in law, Diana and Daniel Goad of Columbia; grandson, Dallas Goad of Columbia; granddaughter, Natalie Ernsberger of Columbia; great grandson, Blaze Ernsberger; sister, Bobbie Lowery of Centerville; five sisters in law; Georgia McCaleb, Ellen McCaleb, Teresa Cooper, Gilda Cobb and Linda (Wayne) Holt; brother in law, Ernie (Jane) Shelby; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Vick, Sarah Hill, and Louise Banks; five brothers, Clyde McCaleb, Hubert McCaleb, Thomas McCaleb, Otis Cochran, and Edward Cochran.
Pallbearers will be Dallas Goad, Rodney Mayberry, Douglas McCaleb, Steve McCaleb, Douglas Vick, Donald Vick, Junior McCaleb and Joe Shelby. Honorary pallbearers will be Sloan “Junior” Cochran, Tommy McMeen, Elton Sisk, William Beard, Jim Voss, members of the The Car Club, Elders and Deacons of Highland church of Christ.
The family would like to express and special thanks to Ascension Saint Thomas Stones River in Woodbury, Morning Pointe of Columbia and Maury Regional Medical Center.
