Roy Edward McCandless

Mr. Roy Edward McCandless, 63, native of Maury County and resident of Rogersville, Alabama, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Joe Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery. Mr. McCandless was the son of Nettie Holt McCandless Berry of Columbia and the late Fleming S. McCandless. He attended Santa Fe School and was retired from Inner City Products. He was a member of the Culleoka Lions Club and was an avid fisherman. Survivors in addition to his mother are one son, Brent (Cassie) McCandless of Lynnville; two grandsons, Jackson McCandless and Cayden McCandless; four brothers, Harry P. (Peggy) McCandless of Ethridge, Carnell (Sheila) McCandless of Lynnville, Lanny McCandless of Rogersville, AL, Jerry McCandless of Columbia; three sisters, Faye (Eddie) Estes of Columbia, Bonnie (William) Dale of Lewisburg, Linda (Bobby) Howell of Spring Hill; mother of his child, Lana Beaver McCandless of Culleoka; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Patterson McCandless, Sr. Pallbearers will be Pat McCandless, Eddie Dale, Phillip McCandless, Timothy McCandless, Kevin McCandless and Jonathan Baker. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, Charlie Hines, Chuckie Hines, fellow employees at ICP, coffee drinkers at S&K Market in Culleoka, Billy Frank Jett, Chris Jett and Mike Jett.
