Mrs. Ruby Nell Ashworth Derryberry, 77, homemaker and long-time resident of Centerville, died Thursday, May 10, 2007, at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon Monday at Oakes & Nichols with Randy Kersey officiating. Burial will be in Philadelphia Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Hickman County native was the daughter of the late Walter Ashworth and Susie Norman Ashworth. She was married to Andrew Nathan "A.D." Derryberry who preceded her in death on December 18, 1993. She was a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include four daughters, Rita (Ernest) Cagle and Teresa Kay (James) Cunningham, both of Centerville; Denise (David) Blocker of Mt. Pleasant; Angela (Donnie Joe) Cothron of Columbia; two stepdaughters, Norma (Tommy) Cook of Columbia; Sharon Tyler of Clarkston, Michigan; two stepsons, Andy (Betty) Derryberry of Pontiac, Michigan; Steve (Tammy) Derryberry of Lewisburg; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and ten step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Annie Harvill, Alice Caldwell, Pearl Polk, Fannie Ashworth; three brothers, Jesse Ashworth, Joe Ashworth, Brown Ashworth; and one step granddaughter, Missy Cook Snedegar. Pallbearers will be Drew Blocker, Lee Derryberry, Guy Derryberry, and Bart Ballard. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Cummins Couch, nurses and staff at NHC Hillview.
