Mrs. Ruby Dye Dugger, 87, retired registered nurse and former long-time Columbia resident, died Sunday, May 25, 2008 in Arlington, Virginia. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery with John Vaughan officiating. The family will visit with friends at graveside. She was a graduate of the King's Daughters' School of Nursing. She assisted Dr. D. B. Andrews in his medical practice for over 30 years. Following his retirement, she continued her nursing at several nursing homes in Columbia. She was a former long-time member of West 7th Street Church of Christ in Columbia. Mrs. Dugger relocated in 1992 to Arlington, Virginia as a resident of Fountain Washington Retirement Center and was a member of Fall's Church Church of Christ. She was married July 7, 1943 to Jesse Fuller Dugger, who preceded her in death November 7, 1967. Survivors include daughters, Maria (Fred) Fielding of McLean, Virginia and Rosemary (Elliot) Grissom of Chesterfield, Missouri; grandchildren, Adam Fielding of Arlington, Virginia, Alexandra Fielding (Edward) Wilson of Arlington, Virginia, and George E. Grissom, Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri. Pallbearers are Fred Fielding, Adam Fielding, Elliot Grissom, George Grissom, Bryce Grissom, and Rea Grissom.
