Ruby Baker Jones

Mrs. Ruby Marie Baker Jones, 81, retired from Dixie Manufacturing, Publix Manufacturing and Maury Manufacturing and resident of Mockingbird Dr. died Sunday, July 27, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4 - 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Parkway Baptist Church, P.O. Box 765, Columbia, TN 38402. On November 18, 1944 she married Howard Jones who preceded her in death February 24, 1999. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church for more than 40 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a friend to many. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Jones, Nancy Ruth Jones Capps; three sons, Danny Ray Jones, Eddie Dale (Terry) Jones, Jeffrey Allen Jones; three sisters, Billie (Roy) Andrews, Lorene Hickman, Katherine Davis; one brother, Robert Lee (Gail Hickman) Baker; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, James H. "Jimmy" Jones and two brothers, Willie Thomas Baker, Jr., and Charles Edward Baker. Pallbearers will be Clay Pruitt, Ken Thompson, Jamie Thompson, Jim McCowan, Wray Wright and Gerald Matlock. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Tharp and Deacons and Trustees of Parkway Baptist Church.
