Russell Lee Robinson, Sr., 88, retired employee of Union Carbide and resident of Greens Mill Road, died Sunday, April 10, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Swango, Rev. Richard Jones, and Rev. Ezell Rose officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday after 12:00 noon at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the son of the late Huey Robinson and Alice Beckenbach Robinson. He was first married to Elizabeth Stephens Robinson who died November 5, 1985. Mr. Robinson was an avid camper at the Natchez Trace Wilderness Reserve. He was a member of Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Linda (Ezell) Rose and Kathy (Terry) Oliver, both of Columbia; Mary Pickard of Centerville; one son, Russell Lee "Sonny" (Linda) Robinson, Jr., of Columbia; eight grandchildren, Ricky Rose, Tammy Reece, Randy Rose, Connie Fitts, James W. Pickard, Jr., Russell Lee "Rusty" Robinson, III, Benjamin Chad Robinson, and Bethany Oliver; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sue Lemay and Elizabeth Brewer. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law. Honorary pallbearers will be retired employees of Union Carbide, men of Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, nursing staff at Maury Regional Hospital 2nd Floor West Step-down Unit and 3rd Floor North, employees of Columbia Care and Rehabilitation, and Dr. Gibran Naddy.
