View Funeral Webcast Russell Scott Troope, 52, electrician with General Motors, Inc., died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at his residence in Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 1, 2023, 11:00 AM at Parkway Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the United States Marine Corp. The family will visit with friends Friday from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Parkway Baptist Church, 1500 Tom J Hitch Pkwy, Columbia, TN. Scott was born in Columbia on September 10, 1970 to Janice Prince Troope and the late Ewing Patterson Troope, Jr. A graduate of Columbia Central High School Class of 1988 and he served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Gulf War. On July 25, 1998 he married Andrea Howell. He had many interests including woodworking, growing plants in his aquaponics greenhouse, running in marathons and especially time spent with his family. Survivors include his wife Andrea Howell Troope of Columbia; his mother, Janice Prince Troope of Columbia; two sons, Patterson and Austin Troope both of Columbia; sisters, Michelle Troope Roachelle (David) and Jennifer Troope Spencer (Skip) both of Columbia; father in law and mother in law, Don and Jane Howell of Columbia; sister in law, Tracy Howell Stovall (Joe) of Culleoka; brother in law, David Howell (Lisa) of Columbia; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Active pallbearers will be Steve Bytwerk, Mike Thompson, Mark Evans, Joey Cromer, Tim Pounders, Noe Tello, John Hunter, and Jason Wimberley. Honorary pallbearers will be the 2017 General Motors Apprentice Group and his General Motors coworkers, his fellow Marine’s that he served with including Paul Pickett, Dean Hart, and Dave Karp.
