Ruth Helen Pitts Rogers Curry, 85, retired loan officer for First Farmers & Merchants and resident of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at her residence.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rusty Colvett and Ed Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 11:00 AM until time of the services at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.

Ruth was born on November 26, 1938 in Limestone County, Alabama to the late Jesse Calvin Pitts and the late Katie Lou Vining Pitts. On August 18, 1989, she married the love of her life Al Curry. She loved to be outside, doing gardening or walking, she loved to read and to sew. Ruth worshiped her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved people, her family, and her cats.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children; Allen (Sherry) Rogers of Tullahoma, TN, Sherri Lowry of Huntsville, AL, grandchildren; Brenton (Nicole) Rogers of Cookeville, TN, Brittany (Lee) Sweeney of Mt. Juliet, TN: great grandchildren; Eleanor Rogers, Lorelei Rogers, Uriah Rogers, Lawrence “Law” Sweeney, Lillian “Lily” Sweeney: Brother; Carlos (Lena) Pitts: stepson; James Curry of Memphis, TN: stepdaughter; Gayle Rosenthal of Austin, TX; and her beloved cat, Katie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Family will be serving as pallbearers as well as, Allen Rogers, Brenton Rogers, Lee Sweeney, Kevin Lowry, and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be Law Sweeney, Uriah Rogers, Jimmy Pitts, and the members of Beach Hill Church of Christ.
