Mrs. Ruth Bell Davidson, 93, former Columbia resident, died Saturday, October 20, 2007 at her residence in Obion, Tennessee. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Locust Grove Church of Christ in Bradford, Tennessee. Her three sons will officiate at graveside services at 2:00 p.m. in the Locust Grove Churchyard. Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. A native of Bradford, Tennessee she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Bell and Evie Christine Lowery Bell. She made her home most of her life in Gibson Cunty and worked with Kellwood Corporation in Greenfield, Tennessee from 1948 until her retirement in 1977. Mrs. Davidson came to Columbia to make her home in 1981. While living here, she worked in several capacities at Columbia Academy. While making her home in Columbia, she was a member of West 7th Street Church of Christ, Ladies Bible Class, and Auditorium Sunday School Class. She returned to her residence in Obion in 1994. Since that time, her membership was with the Hornbeak Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garlon Davidson, four sisters and two brothers. Survivors include her three sons, David D. (Madie Fae) Davidson of Columbia, Bill (Helen) Davidson of Clearwater, Florida, and Harrell (Carrie) Davidson of Obion; nine grandchildren, Deborah Sain, Mary Rose Threet, Carole Jo Davidson, Laminda Coursey, Ronnie Davidson, Stephen Alan Davidson, Van Davidson, Vondal Davidson, and Philip Davidson; twelve great-grandchildren; five great-great-granddaughters; several nieces and nephews.
