Ruth MillerVideo Memories of Mrs. Ruth Miller Mrs. Ruth Long Miller, 86, long time resident of Sheddan Dr., died Thursday, June 2, 2005 at Life Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday, at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 - 8p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. The Hazelton, Pennsylvania native was the daughter of the late Charles Harrison Long and Mary Elizabeth Pickenheim Long. She was married to Kenneth William Miller who preceded her in death May 5, 1983. She was a volunteer with Maury Regional Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Miller was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was active in the Ayers-Whitney Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women. Survivors include two sons Richard Alan Miller of Columbia and Craig William Miller of Lewisburg; one sister, Isabell (Pete) Alterino of Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Chris Miller and Jim Daniels both of Meridian, Mississippi and Kenneth Miller of McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jerry Conner, George Gilley, Danny Ferguson, Jeremy Alexander, Dean Skinner and Jeff Whitefield. Honorary pallbearers will be Mae Duncan, Craig Edwards, Jimmy Davis, Maury Regional Hospital Auxiliary volunteers, members of Ayers-Whitney Sunday School Class, members of United Methodist Women, and members of the Order of Eastern Star.
