MRS. RUTH PALBAS Mrs. Ruth Johnson Palbas, 80, widow of Charles Palbas and resident of Dawson St., died Monday, December 8, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Rose Hill Cemetery with Joe Rhodes officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Tom Johnson and Irene Smith Johnson Nichols. She was a sewing machine operator, homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, Charles (Peggy) Palbas of Culleoka; three grandchildren, Anthony (Angie) Palbas of McGraff, Ohio, Shawn Palbas of Dayton, Ohio, Carla (Steve) McWethy of West Harrison, Indiana; and two great-grandchildren, Heather McWethy and Kelly McWethy both of West Harrison, Indiana. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
