MRS. DOUGLAS N. VAUGHAN Mrs. Ruth Page Blackburn Vaughan, 83, resident of the Maybelle Carter Senior Adult Community in Madison, died Friday, March 26, 2004 at Mt. Juliet Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Goshen United Methodist Church in the Santa Fe Community with Rev. James Gardner officiating.. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Madison Funeral Home and after 10:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to Goshen United Methodist Church, 3523 Goshen Road, Santa Fe 38482 or City Road Chapel United Methodist Church, 701 Gallatin Road, Nashville 37206. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Birton Dean Blackburn and Katherine "Kitty" Page Blackburn. She was a graduate of Santa Fe High School and attended business college in Nashville. She was married December 21, 1940 to Douglas Nixon Vaughan who preceded her in death August 30, 2001. They lived in Humboldt from 1961 until 1994 when they retired and moved to Madison to make their home. Mrs. Vaughan was District Manager for Avon Products for over 20 years in West Tennessee. She was a member of the City Road Chapel United Methodist Church in Nashville. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. J. M. (Glenda) O'Neal of Old Hickory and Mrs. W. T. (Janette) Smith of Shreveport, Louisiana; a son, Brenton Douglas (Barbara) Vaughan of Bartlett; two sisters, Mrs. Douglas (Shannon) Gray of Warner Robins, Georgia and Mrs. Jesse (Dot) Roberson of Columbia; two brothers, Baxter Blackburn of Columbia and Donald (Polly) Blackburn of Oak Ridge; five grandchildren, Johnny Dwayne O'Neal, Brent Vaughan, Jr., Baxter Vaughan, Briana Vaughan, Samantha Smith; three great-grandchildren, Jonathon O'Neal, Maddie O'Neal, J. R. O'Neal; several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers are Barry Blackburn, Randy Blackburn, Bill Krambs, Mike Roberson, Larry Wayne Vaughan, Larry Gray and Gary Gray. Honorary pallbearers are Ralph Baker, Charles Caldwell, Henry Harris, Ed Mercer and J. W. Shouse.
