Mrs. Ruthie Waldean "Deannie" Stokes Kelley, 76, resident of Thompson Drive, died Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at Columbia Care & Rehab. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Williamsport Baptist Cemetery. The Lawrence County native was the daughter of the late William Howard Stokes and Vernie Brewer Stokes Haley. On March 30, 1957 she married Vernon "Tite" Kelley who preceded her in death September 12, 1995. She was a former employee of Po' Boy Restaurant and Nolen's Barbecue. Mrs. Kelley was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include one sister-in-law, Sherrill Stokes of Columbia; one niece, Jennifer (Roger) Patterson of Columbia; three nephews, Robert (Mechelle) Stokes of Lawrenceburg, William (Crystal) Stokes of Mt. Pleasant, James (Robbi) Stokes of Columbia; ten great-nieces and great-nephews, Taylor Stokes, Karissa Stokes, Brady Stokes, Chaela Stokes, Hunter Stokes, Ashton Patterson, Bo Patterson, Morgan Faulkner, Cole Hunt, Logan Martin; and one uncle, Willard D. Brewer of Hampshire. She was preceded in death by her brother, Van T. Stokes, Sr. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff at Columbia Care & Rehab, Dr. Thomas Dake and staff, and employees of Caris Healthcare.
