Sheryl Kathleen Ragsdale Wray, 73, retired caregiver for CPS, died Friday, June 16, 2023 at her residence in Pulaski. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Frank Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday, June 21, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Born April 8, 1950 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Ragsdale and the late Bessie Kelley Ragsdale. She married Paul Lawrence Wray who preceded her in death in 1990. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she was the foundation for her family and loved spending time with them. Mrs. Wray was known for her caring heart and always put everyone’s needs before her own. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Amy (Andy) Luna of Pulaski; son, Frank (Melinda) Wray of Cornersville; sister, Shelia (William) Kuner of Gadsden, Alabama; grandchildren, Casey Howell Payne of Mt. Pleasant; Ashley Wray of Columbia; Deno Wray of Summertown; Schyler (Gavin) Stampfly-Bailey of Pulaski; Lyndsey Stampfly (Harlin Owens) of Nashville; Philip Stampfly of Pulaski; Jacob (Alice) Brooks of Louisiana; Samuel Wray of Cornersville; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Paul Jessie “P.J.” Wray; and eleven brothers and sisters. Active pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
