Sally Ann Fly Beard

Mrs. Sally Ann Fly Beard, 68, former operator of the Olde-N-New Shop, died Monday, March 19, 2007, at her residence on Woods Drive. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Gene Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 5 - 8 P.M. at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Paul Fly and Margaret "Snookie" Rayburn Fly. She was married to Clyde Elbert Beard who preceded her in death on August 4, 1998. She was a 1956 graduate of Columbia Central High School and attended Middle Tennessee State University. In her earlier life she was associated with the Catholic and Methodist churches and most recently attended Grace Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include one son, Ray (Sandra) Beard of Culleoka; four grandchildren, Tommy Eley of Nashville, Jeremy Beard, Chad Beard, and Brandon Beard, all of Columbia; several cousins, and her most beloved pet and friend, Buttercup. Pallbearers will be Tommy Eley, Jeremy Beard, Chad Beard, Brandon Beard, Jerry Fly, Bill Fly, Claude Fly and Cromer Jackson.
