Sally Bob Carroll Kittrell, 85, retired Chief Executive Officer of George Kittrell Machinery Sales and resident of The Bridge Assisted Living, died Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Life Care Center of Columbia.A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Rose Hill Cemetery with David Morris officiating. The family will receive friends at West Seventh Street Church of Christ Youth Center Saturday from 1:30 P.M. - 3:30 P.M. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.Born February 26, 1932 in Opelika, Alabama, she was the oldest of eleven children of the late Raymond Carroll and the late Lurlene Hornsby Carroll. In 1962, she married George Washington Kittrell, they were married for 54-years until his death on November 29, 2016. Earlier in life, she worked for Burlington Hosiery for many years. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she was a wonderful seamstress and excellent cook. An avid gardener, she was awarded several awards for her gardening skills at her former residence on South High Street, and was an avid golfer and bridge player. Mrs. Kittrell was a member of Highland Church of Christ. Survivors include her sons, Robert C. "Bob" Patterson of Columbia; Zach (Allison) Kittrell of Columbia; daughters, Diane (Larry) Price of Columbia; Jacqueline Kittrell of Spring Hill; Vickie Lynn (Dale) Gann of Tyrone, Georgia; grandchildren, Jason Campbell; Adam Campbell; Jennifer Patterson; Summer Kittrell Gray; Peyton Kittrell Barron; Dylan Cates; Mariah Kittrell; Amity Bechenbach; Michael D. Flener; and Traci Gann Wombough; fifteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and siblings, Hershel Carroll; Mary Sanders; Lou Clemmons Stevens; Ellen Preston; Cherry Everett; Marshall Carroll; Raymond Carroll; and Cecil Clayton. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Robert C. Patterson, Jr.; great grandson, Robert Cates; and sisters, Romona Smith; and Margaret Rodgers. Active pallbearers will be Jacob Campbell, Sam Gray, Robby Barron, Ryan Cates, Jason Campbell, Eddie Waine Thomas, Adam Campbell, and Michael D. Flener.
