Mrs. Sandra Vinson Bright, 59, certified public accountant and former resident of Columbia, died Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at her residence in Norcross, Georgia. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Dr. Carl Duck and Terry Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. A native of Sheffield, Alabama, she lived most of her childhood in Columbia. She was a 1965 graduate of Columbia Central High School and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. For several years she served as Financial Officer for Austin Peay University in Clarksville. While serving in this position, she earned a Master's Degree in Accounting. She moved to Norcross, Georgia and established a business as a Certified Public Accountant which she operated over twenty years.Mrs. Bright was a member of Norcross First Baptist Church.Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Steven Vinson and Cathryn Bright of Alpharetta, Georgia; her mother, Florence Kennamore Vinson of Columbia; her brother, Carl Vinson of Racine, Wisconsin; nephews, Eric Vinson and Kenneth Vinson of Racine, Wisconsin; and a cousin, Katherine Nettles Dorman of Stockbridge, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her father, Alex Hughes Vinson, Jr. and her sister, Joy Elizabeth Vinson. Active pallbearers are Chris Brewer, Adam Brewer, Caleb Brewer, Carl Brooks, Don Baggett, Dr. Allyn Lay, Johnny Johns, and Fred Tapper.Honorary pallbearers are Mr. and Mrs. Terry Brewer and members of the Gleaners Sunday School Class at West End Baptist Church.
