Sara Jane Alderson

Sara Jane Alderson, 69, longtime employee of Alderson's Cleaners and former resident of Mt. Pleasant Pike, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Signature Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 12:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late James Robert Alderson, Sr. and Martha Frazier Alderson. She enjoyed needle point, cross stitching, and ceramics. She loved going camping and swimming. An avid animal lover, she enjoyed her cats and dogs. Miss Alderson was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include her sisters, Lynne (Dr. Terry) Hendrickson, Rosemary Alderson both of Columbia; brothers, James Robert "Bobby" Alderson, Jr. of Columbia, and Earl (Glenna) Alderson of Amherst, Massachusetts. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Beth Dubois. Active pallbearers will be her nephews.
