View Funeral Webcast Mrs. Sara Jane Gordon Griffin, 85, retired employee of Lasko Metal Products, died Saturday, March 27, 2021 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Mike Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Oakley Cemetery. Family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Mrs. Griffin was born on August 18, 1935 in Maury County, Tennessee to the late Mr. Tolbert Gordon and her late mother Bertha Mae Slaughter Gordon. She later met and married her husband, of 40 wonderful years, Robert Griffin, who preceded her in death on January 8, 2000. Mrs. Griffin was a farmer and also enjoyed gardening and camping. She was an extraordinary person in her own way. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an active and faithful member of the Water Valley church of Christ congregation. Survivors include her daughter, Shari Stewart of Primm Springs; son, Timothy Gordon Griffin of Primm Springs; grandchildren, Heather (R.J.) Jones, Adam Stewart, Triston Griffin, and Jeremiah Griffin; great grandson, Hunter Stewart; sister, Lorena Doggett; brothers, Garry (Jan) Gordon, and Sonny (Linda) Gordon. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son in law, Tommy Stewart and sister, Irene Elizabeth Gordon. Active pallbearers include Adam Stewart, Hunter Stewart, Triston Griffin, Danny Lunn, Jamie Jones, and Dalton Donavan.
