Sarah Elizabeth Robertson Waddey, 88, resident of Santa Fe Pike, died Thursday, January 23, 2020 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 P.M.at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother J.C. Christian officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to The Vine Church, 4704 Nashville Highway, Chapel Hill, Tennessee 37034. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born October 29, 1931 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Rufus Robertson and the late Virginia “Jenny” Walker Robertson. On February 19, 1949, she married Mark D. Waddey who preceded her in death on April 2, 1990. Mrs. Waddey had a great love for fishing. She was a charter member of Spring Hill First Baptist Church, where she enjoyed keeping the nursery. She is survived by her daughters, Gail Thomason (the late Steven Thomason), Diane Williams, and Annette (Terry) Davis; grandchildren, Stephanie Ezell (Tracey Myatt), Virginia (Shane) Morton, Olivia Henley (Richard Vis), Angela (Daniel) Booker, Jonathan Thomason (Amber Lineberry), Lorrin (Stephen) Bond, and MacKenzie Davis; great grandchildren, Richard Ezell, BriAnna Johnson, Chris Gaddis, Amara Henley, Destiny Murray, Markayla Smith, Danielle Booker, Daniel Booker, Jr. Diondra Booker, Madison Thomason, Kayden Thomason, Levi Bond, Jude Bond, and Eden Bond; great great grandchildren, Jaidyn, Mason, Henson, Galilee, and Naomi; several nieces & nephews; and special friend, Shirley Young. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Douglas Robertson, Jack Robertson, and John Robertson; and sister, Gloria Shepherd. Active pallbearers will include Wayne Robertson, Tommy Robertson, Ricky Robertson, Ronnie Ezell, Jay Farmer, Shane Morton, Tracey Myatt, and Stephen Bond. Honorary pallbearers will include Marvin Bailey, Dr. Jeffery Mitchell, Dr. Jon Freels, Dr. Shawn Gentry, and the senior ladies Sunday School Class at Spring Hill First Baptist Church.
