Sarah Helen Scott Williams

October 4, 1927 — February 8, 2020

Sarah Helen Scott Williams, 92, lifelong resident of Maury County, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother David Usry officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Mt. Wesley Akin Chapel Church of the Nazarene, 2013 New Hwy 7, Columbia, TN 38401. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born October 4, 1927 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late John Andrew Scott and the late Essie Mai Slaughter Scott. On December 3, 1946, she married Roy Williams, Jr., who preceded her in death on July 12, 1983. Mrs. Williams enjoyed sitting with the elderly, cooking, gardening, and earlier in life farming and milking cows. She was a member of the Mt. Wesley Akin Chapel Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by her daughters, Jeraldean (John) Churchwell of Columbia and Marilyn (Michael) Peach of Columbia; grandchildren, Kim (James) Dickinson, Tina (Willie) Baxter, Amy Elliott, Sara Emily (Jeremy) Kelley, Steven (Vanessa) Williams, Chris (Lisa) Williams, Jeff Williams, Kevin Williams, and Jimmy (Sythinia) Collins ; great grandchildren, Karlie (Luke Warf) Dickinson, Maverick Dickinson, Kaity (JoJo Mendes) Dickinson, Rayna Ann Kelley, Lynnlie Ruth Kelley, Logan Baxter, Ashton Elliott, Stephanie Williams, Victoria Williams, Samantha Williams, Destiny Williams, Sierra Williams, Dustin Williams, Isaac Williams, Savannah Williams, and Brittany Collins; 10 great great grandchildren including, Colt Maverick Warf, McKoy Warf, Cyrus Williams, Aiden Bumpus, Trayston Bumpus; brother-in-law, Leonard Lancaster; sisters-in-law, Margaret (Russell) Thomason, Dorothy Williams and Mary Elizabeth Potts; several nieces & nephews; and her special beloved dog, Buggsy. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Steve Young Williams and Carl Michael Williams; daughter-in-law, Joyce Williams; sisters, Addie Dickey, Bertha Steward, Johnnie Ann McCary, Viola Burt, and Clara Mae Lancaster; brothers, Vernon Scott, Dallas Scott, and Hardin Scott; half-brothers, Wilson Scott and Elmer Scott; half-sister, Elsie Mae Scott; and great granddaughter, Jackie Collins Active pallbearers will include James Dickinson, James Dickey, Willie Baxter, Robbie Galbreath, Maverick Dickinson, Chris Williams, Logan Baxter, Steven Williams, and Kenny Lancaster. Honorary pallbearers will include, John Churchwell and Michael Peach. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Charles Ball, Dr. Ben Gardner, NHC Columbia, Caris Hospice nurses, and especially Lisa Lyles.
