Sarah Gertrude Davis Pilkinton, 93, retired from Farmers Construction and resident of Woods Drive, died Friday, August 5, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:30 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Proctor officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born May 3, 1923 in Marshall County, she was the daughter of the late Peter Turney Davis and Virginia Smith Davis. On January 26,1942 she married George William Pilkinton who preceded her in death June 5, 2007. Mrs. Pilkinton was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Georgette Pilkinton of Columbia; sons, Bill (Diane) Pilkinton of Clermont, FL, George Sheryl (Gail) Pilkinton of Good Springs; sister, Eilene Dale of Pulaski; brothers, Norman (JoAnn) Davis of Lynnville, James (Debbie) Davis of Dianna; grandchildren, Michael (Robin) Pilkinton of Columbia, Kent (Charity) Pilkinton of Englewood, Mandy Pilkinton of Smyrna, Sarah (Neil) Pilkinton of Nashville; and great grandchildren, William Pilkinton, Grace Pilkinton, Henry Pilkinton, Sylvia Pilkinton, and Maddie Pilkinton. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, William Shawn Pilkinton; sister, Myrtle McNeece; and brothers, Joe Wayne Davis, Cecil Davis, and Nobel Davis. Family and friends will serve was active pallbearers.
