Mrs. Sarah Woody Mrs. Sarah Robb Palmer Woody, 79, homemaker, resident of Trident Place in Hendersonville, and former longtime resident of Oak Ridge, died Friday, December 17, 2004, at Hendersonville Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Keith Parker officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Wilson County native was the daughter of the late John Ready Palmer and Lollie Belle McClain Palmer. She attended Freed-Hardeman and was a graduate of David Lipscomb University. She was a school teacher early in life and then became a homemaker. Very active in her church, Mrs. Woody had taught two-year old classes for forty years and was currently a member of Hendersonville Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband of fifty years, Max A. Woody, Sr. of Hendersonville; one son, Max A. (Malinda) Woody, Jr., of Smyrna; one daughter, Wynne (Craig) Callis of Hendersonville; one sister, Sue (Rufus) Riggan of Nashville; four grandchildren, Jenny McClain Calls and Kathryn Blair Callis, both of Hendersonville; Max Alexander Woody, III and Mark Allen Woody, both of Smyrna; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Palmer; and five brothers, John Palmer, H. C. Palmer, Joe Palmer, Robert Palmer, and Frank O. Palmer. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Elders of Hendersonville Church of Christ.
