Sharon Kaye Thomason Kennedy, 54, resident of Robertson Road in the Lynnville Community, died Sunday, October 24, 2010 at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 4:00 p.m. in the Richland High School Gymnasium with Rev. Blake Hawthorne officiating. Burial will follow in Lynnwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols. The family suggests memorials to the Sharon Kennedy Scholarship Fund, c/o Bank of Frankewing, P. O. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late William Jackson "Jack" Thomason and Opal Lorene Kelley Thomason. She was a 1974 graduate of Columbia Central High School and attended Columbia State Community College. She worked as an assistant in the Guidance Office at Richland High School and served as coach for the Cheerleading Squad. Mrs. Kennedy was a member of Lynnville Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband, William Frank "Billy" Kennedy, Jr. of Lynnville; daughter, Beth (Chad) Hall of Pulaski and Holly (Brent) Gibson of Lynnville; grandchildren, Kenlee Hall, Kylee Hall, Emma Gibson, Kaylee Hall, and Luke Gibson; sisters, Barbara Hart of Columbia and Becky Tomlin of Murfreesboro; brother, Kevin (Nicole) Thomason of Columbia; sister-in-law, Gail Thomason of Columbia; and mother-in-law, Fannie Belle Kennedy of Lynnville. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marlene Lucas and brother, Steve Thomason. Active pallbearers are Darryl Eubank, Troy Hood, Nick Harmon, Scott Tarpley, Jimmy Trigg, Justin Prince, and Nicholas Harmon. Honorary pallbearers include current and former Richland High School Cheerleaders, Faculty and Staff of Richland High School, Dr. Mark Messenger and Staffs of the Oncology Department and IV Clinic at Maury Regional Medical Center.
