Sharon Denise Watson Wise, 77, retired nurse from Maury Regional Hospital and resident of Columbia, entered eternal rest with her family by her side on Monday November 25, 2024 at her residence.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 30th at 10:00 AM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. The burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday, November 29th from 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM.
Sharon was born on February 14, 1947 in Columbia, TN to the late Evelyn Giarratano and Odie B. Watson. She married the love of her life Danny Ray Wise on December 30, 1969 and they were married for almost 55 years. She so loved Danny and their many journeys together. Every day, they would hold hands, and she would look for her “Danny”. He was her rock, and she was his. She had a passion for gardening, traveling, shopping, and loved taken care of people. Sharon loved her children and grandchildren. One of her greatest joys in life was being “Mimi” to her 6 grandchildren.
Sharon graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1965 and graduated from Trevecca College. She created many lifelong friendships while working at Maury Regional Hospital for over 30 years. She loved and respected by her co-workers and treated each patient like they were her own children. She loved singing in the choir at First Presbyterian Church. There was no song, she didn’t love and wanted to sing or dance to. She loved to bring joy to everyone in this world. Always seeing the good in everyone. She was a true blessing to this world.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children; Jamie (Rachael) Wise of Arlington, TN and Susan Wise (Peter) Bishop of Denver, CO, grandchildren; Emily Wise of Germantown, TN, Annabelle Wise of Germantown, TN, Greg Wise of Arlington, TN, Evelyn Bishop of Denver, CO, Maggie Bishop of Denver, CO, and Jamison Wise of Arlington TN, and her beloved cat, Watson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Vicki Watson of Houston, TX.
Family will be serving as pallbearers as well as, Joel Wise, Kevin Hood, Will Wise, Cody Hardin, Randy Miller, and Shannon Holcomb. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Belew, Gary Bishop, and members of First Presbyterian Church.
