Mr. Sherrell Martin Rivers, 69, resident of Camelot Drive, died Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 P.M. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Hayes officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Woodlawn Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. He was a graduate of Isaac Litton High School and attended Tennessee Tech University and Columbia State Community College. Mr. Rivers served in the U. S. Navy and the Tennessee Army National Guard. He worked twenty years for IBM Corporation and later worked at Middle Tennessee Bank and as I.T. Director for Maury County Government. He was a member of Beech Grove Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of twenty-four years, Linda Hann Rivers of Columbia; two daughters, Angela Brown of Columbia; Debra Hall of Indianapolis, Indiana; three sons, Randall (Sharon) Rivers of Knoxville; Kenny (Gina) Rivers of Murfreesboro; Kevin Rivers of Hartsville; two sisters, Mrs. Linda (Richard) Morrison and Mrs. Diane Patterson, both of Nashville; one brother, Robert E. (Ginny) Rivers, Jr., of Cookeville; six grandchildren, Ashleigh Hall, Christopher Rivers, Bradley Rivers, Theresa Rivers, Jonathan Rivers, and Madison Rivers; his beloved Boston Terriers, Katie Scarlett, and Andy; and three nieces and one nephew. Pallbearers will be Gary Love, Charles Hardison, Mark Hines, Tony Parrish, Nathan Johns, Bill Wells, James Buchanan, Eric Batdorf, and Danny Woods. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Capps, John Knox Andrews, Jerry Erwin, Ashley Brown, Norman Harris, James Bailey, Sarah Anderson, and Nancy Thompson.
