Shirley Counts Neese, 80, homemaker and resident of Santa Fe Pike, died Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Matthew Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born May 10, 1938 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Luther Counts and the late Gladys Rummage Counts. She was a graduate of Campbellsville High School. Mrs. Neese enjoyed spending time with her children, raising flowers, and bowling. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Bobby Neese of Columbia; daughter, Crystal Neese of Cornersville; son, Joey (Peggy Primm) Neese of Columbia; granddaughter, Dawn Neese of Brentwood; and beloved animals, Truman Capote, Jade, Rocco. She was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Counts Stewart; brothers, Ronnie Counts, Donnie Counts, Luther Counts, Jr., Smitty Counts, Jr. Family and friends of Temple Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
